The original release a few years back was deservedly met with scorn after Tokypop attemped to Americanize the show. The dub was terrible and the exclusion of the authentic car sound effects and Eurobeat music was ludicrous. With this acquisition, fans of the series can finally enjoy Initial D as it was meant to be seen and newcomers can see what all the fuss is about without having to resort to fansubs.
