Doujin fighter Akatsuki Blitzkampf to get a follow-up

Akatsuki Blitzkampf is a fairly popular PC and arcade fighting game that was developed by doujin circle Subtle Style. Besides its use of character designs that employ a distinct WWII German soldier aesthetic, what sets AB apart is its combat engine. Instead of opting for the frantic playstyle seen in other doujin fighters like Melty Blood and commercial games like Guilty Gear X and BlazBlue, the developers chose to create an engine that requires players to take a more methodical approach to each match, similar to older Capcom and SNK fighters.

A supposed sequel, possibly named En-1: The Perfect World, is currently undergoing location testing and will be making an appearance in Japanese arcades in June. Right now, we just know that the game will take place in the same universe as Akatsuki Blitzkampf. Whether or not it is a full-on sequel or just a spin-off has yet to be determined. It runs on the System Board Y2 arcade system, which was previously used for The King of Fighters 2002: Unlimited Match and Higurashi No Naku Koroni - Jang.

Arcade only? I wonder if they’re gonna port it to Pcs, too.

    It’s possible. I’m hoping for a console release myself…
