opinion: The Angry Aussie is right about the “video games can never be art” debate – it’s pointless
"Today, I'm not giving a fuck about how Roger Ebert has wound up a bunch of gamers by saying video games can never be art. Both sides of this argument are so pointless, I simply don't give a fuck."
I saw no point in covering the whole "video games can never be art" can of worms that Roger Ebert re-opened after posting an article on the subject a few weeks back. I'm of the opinion that arguing for or against that issue is a complete waste of time - time that could be spent actually playing and enjoying games or, if that isn't your thing, time that could be spent doing something that is more productive. As far as I'm concerned, neither side has ever made a convincing argument. And even if one did, the other would never acknowledge it. Luckily, the Angry Aussie just published a video on YouTube that perfectly summarizes my feelings on this subject, allowing me to finally post something about it without having to invest too much of my time thinking about it.
